Living fabulously

Suddenly I’m just breaking things.

Yesterday, it was the sugar bowl, and this morning, my very pretty, red candle holder.

Before the gloom had the chance to over-take me, I reminded myself that it’s a good thing these things are replaceable.

Imagine if they weren’t.

When I started this blog last August, I was feeling lost and confused. I was searching for the me that seemed to have gotten lost between my growing up, moving to Australia and losing Dad. I had lost my roadmap and I was desperate to find it.

So I went back to my roots – writing. And somewhere along the way, I found myself again; and she handed me back my roadmap. When my fingers curled around that beautifully folded bundle of invisible, fragile paper, my soft heart broke into a thousand little pieces. How did I allow myself to lose such a precious guide?

Some people are born knowing where they need to go. Others find it along the way while others just go with the flow, never paying much attention. Then there are those who simply don’t care.

Which one of these are you? How are you living your life?

What I have come to see is that there is a way of living that actually works; and that we don’t have to go through life mopping around feeling sorry for ourselves. We can use each day to improve ourselves and consequently our relationships and circumstances. And this is what I call fabulous living.

The catch is that it begins with each one of us, personally and individually.

Nobody will ever point a gun to your head and force you to live a fulfilling life. In fact, some people would rather you fail and mop around.

Fabulous living is about fulfilment. And fulfilment is all about quality. Quality thoughts lead to quality words which manifest themselves in quality conduct. As a man thinketh so is he. This is another living principle that will show up in our lives whether we like it or not; whether we believe it or not.

I know I’ve said this before but I cannot overemphasise its importance: positive thinking doesn’t offer any guarantees whatsoever…but it gives you your best chance at reaching your dreams and succeeding.

And this too, is fabulous living. It is the choice to live in an environment that positively and purely supports and feeds your heart, mind, soul and spirit.

Like my sugar bowl and candle holder, life is breakable. But unlike them, it is not replaceable.

You get to pass through this life once…and so you don’t want to break it.

I have another option for you; Live fabulously!
